The epicentre for fun, games and surprise in and on Freak City.

The Hood is a spin-off of the Humus Festival series at Europe's oldest hippie festival, the Burg Herzberg Festival. Burg Herzberg-Festival.

It's a festival within a festival.

As a large non-profit stand-up association, the Büro für sozialen Humusaufbau has been presenting you every year since 2015:
FLAKE including Freeshop, the areas: old crafts, RepairCafé, Foodsharing, Permaculture, the Sensory Experience Field, the Workship (an OpenSpace workshop tent), as well as the Useful Hemp Tent and the Clay Building Corner.

Swapping is yesterday's news!
At the art installation "Flake" we play "sharing instead of swapping" with you.
Provocative hippy-punks make a practical appeal to unconditional sharing.
This means more than just giving or taking.
Step 1: Become aware of your personal needs.
Step 2: Communicate them if you like
Step 3: Get happy or / and start all over again

Zum Handwerks-Zelt und RepairCafé

In all your dancing and strolling, don't forget you have hands too!
You can create a craft by tinkering, sewing, gluing, screwing, snipping and fiddling!
Try your hand and dare to make new things.

Zum Foodsharing

Not hungry anymore, but still something in your hand? Bought too much or calculated too generously?
Please pause for a moment before you unconsciously drop the rest of it into the next bin.
Look around for a moment. Ask someone around you if they still have an appetite. Otherwise, bring the food or drink to us if it is still edible.
We rescue food from being wasted, thrown away or disappearing and fair share it on an unconditional basis.
Visit us day and night.

Zum Workship

A space is created in which almost anything can happen.
By means of the "OpenSpace method" we approach the transfer of knowledge from above, below and the rest of the sides.
Whether it's a short lesson in mechanics, an acroyoga session, a jam on the loop station, a haircut or a deep ecology dream circle, this is the place where you can exchange thematically, in a relaxed and focused way.
So bring your skills and superpowers!

Step closer, step in. Marvel, discover, visit phenomena of hearing and seeing. Of touch and smell. Of vibration, of balance, of the rhythm of the sense of space and movement and of imagination.

Die Pfade zur Wildgestaltung

Education is an essential component of socio-ecological change. In order to promote this, new educational paths are needed that turn away from standardising people in a defining educational system. It needs educational pathways that support the free development of people by allowing them to learn together what they are passionate about. Fascination-oriented, intrinsically motivated and individually diverse learning of ecological, economic and social techniques and methods, integrated into everyday processes of community togetherness, is the basis for a wild design of a future fit for grandchildren.

On the eleven paths, you will encounter various sustainable concepts that you can use as part of your individual toolbox - for actively helping to shape a future fit for children.
